How much does a website cost in the UAE in 2026?

A small-business website in the UAE costs between AED 500 and AED 50,000 depending on who builds it. Here is what each tier actually buys.

I get asked this question twice a week on WhatsApp, and the honest answer is that it depends more on who builds it than on what you need. The actual range for a small-business UAE website in 2026 is wider than people expect — from under AED 500 for a template handoff to over AED 50,000 for an enterprise agency build. Here is what each tier buys you.

Tier 1 — AED 500 or less (the cousin's friend)

A relative or a classmate downloads a free WordPress theme, dumps your logo on top, and sends you a login. The site exists. It is also broken in the ways you only notice when a customer calls to say the WhatsApp link does not open. You will rebuild it inside six months at a higher tier, and most of that first spend becomes a sunk cost.

Tier 2 — AED 500 to 2,000 (Fiverr / 99designs template)

A $50 to $500 template from a global marketplace. You get a working site, no copyright trouble if you buy a licence, and the same template as about ten thousand other businesses in the Gulf. Fine for a side project. Not fine if you want Google to see you as distinct from your competitors in a saturated local category.

Tier 3 — AED 2,500 to 5,000 (senior freelancer, productised)

This is where my own WordPress Starter sits at AED 2,500 flat with 7-day delivery. One person builds the site in full, you can edit it afterwards, and the price pays for the hours and the taste of a single senior developer rather than for a four-person agency payroll. The ceiling of what you can get at this tier has risen sharply since 2023 — AI tooling means a senior solo can ship in a week what used to take an agency a month.

Realistic scope at this tier: five pages, contact form, WhatsApp integration, mobile responsive, bilingual Arabic / English if needed, two revisions, 30 days of post-launch fixes. Not realistic: full e-commerce (that is WooCommerce, a separate quote), custom booking systems, or anything with user accounts.

Tier 4 — AED 8,000 to 15,000 (local agency)

A small Abu Dhabi or Dubai agency with a project manager, a designer, a developer and a content writer. You get a polished brand treatment, a kickoff workshop, and the discipline of a four-person payroll — but that payroll is also what you are paying for. Timelines are typically four to eight weeks, and much of that is coordination overhead rather than build time.

Worth it when: the brand genuinely needs multiple specialists in a room (large copy project, animation, a motion-identity suite). Overkill when: you just need a working business site.

Tier 5 — AED 25,000 and up (enterprise agency)

A full enterprise shop with pitch decks, stakeholder workshops, bespoke CMS integrations, and six-month timelines. If you are reading a blog post to find out whether you need this tier, you do not need this tier.

What drives the price inside each tier

  • Page count — flat per-page beyond the included set is typical (I charge AED 500 per extra page).
  • Language — bilingual Arabic / English should not double the price at the senior freelancer tier, but at agency tier it often does.
  • Content — if the client supplies polished copy and photography, every tier gets cheaper. If I have to shoot or write it, that is a separate line item.
  • Hosting — AED 150 to 400 per year on Hostinger for shared, more if you need a VPS. Agencies often hide this inside a 'maintenance retainer' at ten times the real cost.
  • Payment gateway — Stripe or an UAE processor adds a day of work; most freelancers do not quote this as separate but agencies do.

The honest answer to 'what should I pay'

If you run a small UAE service business — salon, clinic, restaurant, trading company, home services — your website should cost between AED 2,500 and AED 5,000 and take one to two weeks. Anything significantly outside that range in 2026 is either a scope problem (you asked for e-commerce or a booking engine) or a markup problem (someone is pricing your project to cover their payroll).

FAQ

Questions this answers

What is a fair price for a small-business website in the UAE in 2026?

AED 2,500 to 5,000 for a 5-page small-business WordPress site built by a senior solo developer with 7 to 14 days delivery. Below AED 2,000 you are getting a template; above AED 10,000 you are paying for an agency payroll rather than the site itself.

How long should a website take to build?

7 days for a productised small-business WordPress site, 2 to 4 weeks for a custom build, 6 to 12 weeks for an agency enterprise project. If someone quotes 3 months for a 5-page small-business site, you are being padded.

Is a cheap website worth it in the UAE?

A cheap template or free theme costs you more in the long run — most are rebuilt within 6 months. The sweet spot in 2026 is AED 2,500 to 5,000 with a senior freelancer who owns the delivery end to end.

Does bilingual Arabic / English cost extra?

At the senior freelancer tier, no — bilingual Arabic RTL is included free in a WordPress Starter build. At agency tier it typically adds 30 to 60 percent. The actual engineering cost is small; the markup is a payroll decision.
